the plug
the campground bathroom
set among the dunes and cypress
state park grey
quiet and serene
made refuge for two boys
plugged in and enthralled
with the electronic world
on the little screen
oblivious to what awaited outside
the sand tumbling down the dune
the wind moving it grain by grain
trees advertising climbing
waves beating a summons
that is not heard
wanting the boys to come and play
freely with abandon
severed from the web that binds them
holding them in and unaware
