Brenda and I are soon leaving to do the John Muir Trail. We will be starting in Tuolumne Meadows on Aug 30 and finishing at Mt Whitney on Sept 17, taking 19 days to do 197 miles, averaging about 10.3 miles a day. We will climb 9 10K to 12K passes, and top out at 14,496 Mt Whitney. Overall we climb about 40,000 feet. I'll take lots of photos and we will keep a log so I can report on the trip on this blog.

ReplyDeleteBest wishes to both of you on the trail. I'll be nursing my bum knees near Sonora Pass, and hoping to be able to carry a pack again by next summer. Such great country!
