the sun beating on our backs

rain spraying our faces

when the rainbow appeared

just past the lighthouse

staying with us

emerging out of mist

always receding from us

never reachable

always beautiful

dressing the sky

Dorothy, the rainbow is elusive

the rainbow always recedes

the funny people in Kansas

on Aunt Ems farm

remain to remind you

that you are who you are

and over the rainbow
