mc'donald's hit africa today

and when it did the earth there

shook with fear

that the animals 

would no longer browse

the  giraffe 

would no longer trim the top

of graceful trees

or leave nourishing dropping

wildebeests and  zebras

would no longer graze 

a lush carpet and run

rest and sleep on the 

expanse of plain

in complete harmony

with the grasses and weeds

pollution takes many forms

and while animals don't really

eat junk food

even the thought 

of proximity

makes for the sickness

of not knowing 

what you eat

mc'donald's hit africa today

sadness encompassed the continent

people trembled and feared

what it might mean
